What makes a American Shorthair look like yours
The American Shorthair is the classic working cat: a solid, muscular body, a round face with full cheeks and a short, thick coat. The best known look is silver with bold black tabby swirls, the classic bullseye on each side.

Tabby patterns are different on each side of the cat, so the side photo decides what your pet's pattern looks like: take it in daylight with your cat standing. A face photo at eye level shows the markings around the eyes and forehead. Avoid flash, which flattens silver coats.
